Brown sugar provides gentle exfoliation and is a natural humectant. It draws moisture from the environment and transfers it to the skin, serving as a natural moisturiser which keeps skin soft and at the same time hydrated. It naturally contains glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid that helps lift away dead cells and surface impurities making brown sugar an effective exfoliator but without stripping precious hydration from your skin. It’s gentler than salt and softer than granulated sugar.
